Our Family Center

Welcome to the Harris Family Center. “A sharing place” best describes the atmosphere of our unique and attractive gathering space. It’s the first of its kind in New York State, designed and built to be flexible in its use and accommodate a wide range of service:

• a home like atmosphere to host a funeral reception
• a comfortable family retreat between visitation hours
• a private location for a memorial visitation gathering with refreshments
• a warm and nurturing environment for bereavement support and resources(see the C.O.P.E.S. section of our website for details)

Our family center also serves as a private hosting location for church or pastoral care meetings, health care professionals, schools, senior citizens organizations and community groups dealing with various aspects of funerals and bereavement.

Conveniently located on-site and adjacent to the funeral home, our Family Center includes separate ladies and men’s restrooms, a spacious coatroom, television and audio sound system, ample and well lit parking, and easy access for visitors of every physical capacity.

Funeral Reception Facilities

The quiet, home like atmosphere of our Family Center can provide a comfortable and convenient setting in which to host a reception after funeral services. It’s tastefully furnished with sofas, chairs and dining tables to offer an inviting setting for your guests, as well as a private family retreat to relax between visitation hours where coffee and tea are always available.

Our complete services relieve you of the burden of planning a gathering during a difficult and stressful time-so you won’t have to be concerned with finalizing details, finding an open facility or cleaning up afterward. Our staff will ensure that your family and friends are treated with the same hospitality you would extend in your own home. It allows you to spend more time with your family- and no time worrying about the details of the reception.

Memorial Visitation/Service with Reception Facilities

A Memorial Service is a ceremony or service of remembrance where the body of the deceased is not present. It may be held at a place of worship, the funeral home, or other location. It offers relatives, family and friends a time to gather and commemorate the life of their loved one or family member.

Because New York State Department of Health prohibits consumption of food and beverages within a funeral home establishment, The Harris Family Center was designed and built separately from our funeral home to allow gathering space for a memorial visitation and services with provisions for refreshments. It is the only facility of its kind in our area.
