Wiegand, Robert G. Irondequoit: Friday, February 5, 2016. Robert Wiegand passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday, February 5, 2016. Robert was born October 30, 1948 to Elmer and Elsie (Eckhardt) Wiegand in Rochester, NY. He graduated in 1966 from Bishop Kearney High School where he met the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou. In 1970, he graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Robert made a career at Ward's Natural Science, retiring as Chief Financial Officer. For over 30 years, Robert was a volunteer firefighter at the St. Paul Boulevard Fire Department, as well as serving as a past President and most recently District Secretary and Treasurer. Robert is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou (Iuppa), his daughter Rebecca Chodak, Son Jeffrey (Jill) Wiegand, Granddaughter Ayana Chodak, Grandson Charlie Chodak, Sisters Linda (David) Glossner, Jeanne (Alan) Glossner, Donna (Patrick) Stoycon, Joyce (Rick) Perucki, Cousin Susan (Dan) Wyner, many nieces and nephews, many friends and his brothers from the Fire Department. Special thanks to the St. Paul Boulevard Fire Department and professional and volunteer firefighters and first responders. His family will receive friends WEDNESDAY 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family THURSDAY 9:30 AM at ST. KATERI AT ST. MARGARET MARY CHURCH for his funeral mass. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sunset House, 3746 St. Paul Blvd., Rochester, NY 14617.
