Obituary of Dennis Brian O'Kane

Irondequoit: 10/11/16 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Eva O'Kane. Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda; brother, James (Janet) O'Kane; sister Katherine Lamay; and dear friends the Pata Family. Dennis retired from the St. Paul Fire District where he was a firefighter for 32 years and from the U. S. Army Reserves where he served for 24 years. During his career as a firefighter and also following his retirement he worked part time at the Rochester Red Wings and Blue Cross Arena ticket offices. He was a member of the Local 788 and the St. Paul Boulevard Exempts Association and Club. A very special thank you to all of our wonderful friends here and in Florida for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Thank you to the career firefighters and volunteers of the St. Paul Blvd. Fire District and to the members of Local 788 for your kind words and constant support. Our sincere appreciation to the caring, compassionate and dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff at Highland Hospital for always being there for us. It is our hope that Dennis will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be forever missed and loved by his family and friends. Private Interment. No prior calling hours. His Memorial Service will be held at Seneca United Methodist Church, 121 Scholfield Road, Irondequoit on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to: The Seeing Eye, P. O. Box 375, Morristown, N.J. 07963 which provides guide dogs for the blind.
