Gray, Sybil E. (Scarpa) Smithers, Gray Rochester: Monday, February 6, 2017, Age 83 of Elmira, NY. Born July 22, 1933 to John H and Cora A Perkins. Predeceased by daughter Anne Scarpa, her parents, brothers and sister in law T. Clair (Margaret) Perkins and Jack Perkins; husbands Richard Smithers and Laurence Gray. Survived by her daughters, Allis Krise and Ellen (David) Muratore; grandchildren, Andrew (Becky) Krise, Jason (Jennifer) Krise, Matthew (Kathryn) Muratore, Carrie Muratore, Sarah (Stephen) Downs; great-grandchildren, Mason, Leah, Tyler Krise, Giulia and Peter Muratore. Numerous stepfamily members including: Stuart Gray (Karen Long), Philip Gray (Randy Howard), Finley (Laura) Gray, Shirley (William) Brodginski with their families, many beloved nieces and nephews. Sybil was a loving and devoted mother and wife, a life long member of Central Christian Church, member of the Eastern Star, former Alert Chapter, currently Excelsior ESL, volunteer for numerous organizations and a true friend to many. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Central Christian Church, 309 South Main Street, Elmira, NY 14904 on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 1:00PM Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM. Reverend Dr. Cynthia Huling Hummel will officiate. - Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
