Irondequoit: After 94 years of a gracious life, Mary Ann Salt passed on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Predeceased by her husband Fred Salt & former husband Gene Kavanaugh. She leaves behind daughter Cathy, grandchildren Steven (Tina): Nancy (Fillipo) as well as four great grandchildren: sisters in law, Agnes Doyle, Joan Swarthout & Marie Kavanaugh & brother in law, Elwood Shemwell & many relatives & friends. Born in Ontario, Canada Mary Ann came to the Rochester area as a young woman. Always having an eye for fashion, Mary Ann ran a beauty salon in the Kodak Park area for many years. Mary Ann loved gardening, was a wonderful cook & an accomplished seamstress. Most importantly Mary Ann was a loving, cheerful & supportive person to her husband, daughter, relatives & friends. Her family will receive friends FRIDAY, September 22, 2017, 4:00-7:00 pm at Harris Funeral Home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to join the family SATURDAY, September 23, 2017 9:30 am at Saint Kateri at Saint Cecilia Church (2732 Culver Rd.) for her memorial mass. Memorials may be directed to Golisano Childrens' Hospital, Office of Advancement, 300 East River Rd., PO Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
