Arengi, Clara (Salamone) Mangione

Rochester: Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the age of 87, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Mangione; sisters, Palma Polito, Mary Callari and Josephine Chiappone. Clara is survived by her husband, Phillip Arengi and his children, Bella (Joseph) Mondo, Patti (Sam) Astuto, Donna (Joseph) Ventura and their families; brother, Samuel (Mariangela) Salamone; sister, Eveline (Donald) Wasylina; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. An extraordinary woman, Clara started as a bank teller in 1948 following high school graduation and rose through the ranks to Assistant Vice president, retiring from Marine Midland Bank in 1987. During her banking career she also managed the administrative operations of Mangione's Food Shop in Irondequoit for over 10 years. Clara's greatest passion was her love of family and friends throughout her lifetime. The family is grateful for the compassionate care Clara received by the staff at St. John's Home.

Her family will receive friends FRIDAY 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.) Friends are invited to meet the family SATURDAY 9:30 AM at ST. KATERI AT CHRIST THE KING CHURCH (445 Kings Hwy So.) for her funeral mass followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Parkinson's Foundation 200 Southeast First St., Suite 800, Miami, Fla. 33131.
