Obituary of Lance Andrew Minielly

Lance Andrew Minielly

IRONDEQUOIT - Saturday, November 19, 2022 at age 32. Lance, beloved son of Kimberly Vaughn Graus (Gary) and beloved grandson of Craven Vaughn (Tracy) and Sally Fairchild West (Bill). Lance was born in Towanda, PA on January 29, 1990. He is survived by his fathers, Andrew Finnerty of Douglassville, PA and Robin Minielly of Lubbock, TX. In 1997, Lance moved to Abington, PA. He was a Boy Scout, enjoyed rollerblading at the YMCA with his dad, and spending time with our good friend, Joe Kennedy. Lance and Joe would spend hours playing chess on his porch and eating junk food. In 2001, he moved to Rochester, NY and attended Rush-Henrietta schools and loved spending time with his friends, Alex, Scott, Kyle and Mike. He was a lover of music and played several instruments. He played the cello in his school band, had a collection of guitars that he taught himself to play, but most of all was his love of drumming. He was an unbelievable drummer, and all of our neighbors also knew it! He loved playing the drums with Jim Lane at Murph's and playing music with his friend, John Pelc. Lance was also a lover of all animals, and they loved him. He was truly happy any time he was with dogs, but especially the family dogs, Jack and Jerry. Lance was a compassionate and caring person, and gave the best hugs. For the last decade of his life, he struggled with schizophrenia and addiction, which he is now free of. I would like to thank Sue Barnes for all of her help in the last two years and for loving him.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 25, 2:00 pm at Rochester Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lance's name can be made to Open Door Mission, https://opendoormission.com/
