Jacqueline Ferrara

Obituary of Jacqueline Ferrara

Jacqueline Ferrara (nee' DiLaura), of Parkland, FL, passed away on Friday evening, March 10, 2023. Jacqueline (Jackie) is preceded by her parents Jack and Jean DiLaura. Jackie is survived by her husband Samuel Ferrara, her children Samuel (Dorothy) Ferrara, Jean Forney and Jamie (Vincent) Barbieri, her grandchildren Jack, Gianna, Jeannie, Sammy, Jolyn, Nina, Blake and Jacob; her sisters Stephanie (Eugene) Gianforti, Nina (Donald) Varrenti, Jean Cray and her bother Jerry DiLaura. Jackie was a devoted wife to her husband, a fiercely loving mother of her three children, and a loyal sister. To her six incredible grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, despite her small stature, she was appropriately spoken of as "Big Mama". Always doting and adoring her family - they were her world. To Jackie, family and tradition meant everything. The countless hours she spent baking and decorating for the holidays, Sunday dinners that took place without fail, and greeting cards for each occasion in the mail...these are just some of the traditions she passed down. Her candy collection and need to have at least 3 vacuums – less of a tradition and more of a quirky obsession! Forever looking for ways to add meaning to life, Jackie would want us to celebrate her departure with time spent together as family - sharing memories, eating delicious food, smiling and laughing. She was our bedrock - always there, never wavering. In this she would like us to remember her strength, wisdom and infinite love. "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever" Winnie the Pooh Special thanks to nephew and niece Sammy and Robyn Pantano, and special friend Maria. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 15th 10:00 AM at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Parkland, FL. Friends are invited to join the family Friday, March 17th at 10:00 AM at Peace Of Christ Parish At St. James Church (109 Brockley Rd.) for her funeral mass. Inurnment held privately. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jackie's memory to St. Padre Pio, 141 Frank Dimino Way (Marconi Blvd), Rochester NY 14624 [585-594-5220]. Arrangements entrusted to Philip Profetta.
