We will miss uncle Bob dearly. He was our "bigger than life" uncle during our childhood. He would light up our lives when he came to our home. One of my strongest memories is when we all gathered at the railroad station to say goodbye before he left for the Korean War. We all cried...but then rejoiced when he returned. He was special to all of us little Beachmans!

I met Bob when he joined ESL in 1959 and succeeded me in the collections job. We grew to be friends as well as working together. In retirement, we worked together as lawyer and real estate appraiser--still friends. Al Terhaar's Old Farts lunch, ESL's annual retiree's luncheon (more formal), and the telephone kept us in touch. I enjoyed his company on the tour of the new ESL headquarters in July--unaware the next two months would be full of health concerns and his passing. My condolences to Valerie, Anne, Kevin, and Laura. George
