It is with great sadness that the members of the Rochester Philatelic Association learn of the passing of Dave, a life member who joined us in 1995. He was always ready to help us with our yearly ROPEX stamp shows, managing exhibit frame setups and takedowns and regularly attended our twice-monthly meetings. He passed a day before another of our long-time life members passed, Ray Stone, whom Dave knew very well. We will all miss Dave!

I went to #22 school and Edison Tech with Dave. Been to his house on Hollenbeck Street. Last saw him at one of the last Rochester Red Wing games on Norton Street. He had a streak of wildness in him which I kinda laughed at. He asked me outside of #22 school if I had ever pulled a fire alarm? I said no and he pulled the alarm on Zimbrich Street and we both ran down Zimbrich Street, then up Remington...then down Kohlman Street just in time to see the garage door open at the firehouse on Clinton. We both laughed at the time. Dave could be fearless at times. I enjoyed my time with Dave, both during our time at #22 school and at Edison Tech. Rest in Peace, Dave. Tim "Danny" Sturm

Great guy, we were friends in high school and always enjoyed being together. Sad to hear of his passing. My friend Glenn Marcus ran into him playing golf and he asked about me after all of these years. It was a pleasure to be remembered by Dave. Again m6 condolences to the family.

So very sorry to hear of Dave’s passing I remember many good times with him, Kathy, Jessica and Dave Jr when I was growing up as he grew up with my parents Jerry and Rita. I saw him last at my uncles ALS benefit but didn’t get a chance to say hello. Sending my condolences to his family.

All of Dave's friends from the Mendon Golf Club Senior Men's League extend their condolences to his family. We remember Dave as a kind and caring individual - a true gentleman. He took up golf later in life but took great joy in working to improve his game and Tuesday mornings with his "golfing buddies" were a special time -- for him and for us. Rest in peace Dave - we will all miss you.
