Obituary of Georgia Ann Printup (Halldow)
Georgia Ann Printup (Halldow) passed away on February 17, 2025 surrounded by her family at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York from complications of multiple sclerosis. She was born in Rochester on December 10, 1944. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry Russell Halldow and Helen Florence Halldow (Norris) of Williamson, NY. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger O. Printup, her sons, Todd W. Clicquennoi of Rochester and David A. Clicquennoi of Santa Monica CA. Other survivors include her daughters-in-law, Michelle Clicquennoi and Phalla Clicquennnoi; grandchildren, Zachary Clicquennoi, Madeline Clicquennoi, and Evan Cliquennoi; her sister, Deborah Halldow, and brother, Harry Ronald Halldow; several cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Georgia graduated from Williamson High School in 1962, SUNY Potsdam in 1965 with a BA in Education, and Syracuse University with an MA in Public Relations in 1977. She met her husband, Roger, who had recently completed his PhD at Syracuse, while she was pursuing her Masters. She taught in the Rush-Henrietta School District and the Albemarle County School District in Virginia before pursuing a career in human resources. She worked in that field at both the University of Virginia and the Stanford University Linear Accelerator Center in Palo Alto, CA. While at Stanford, she served as a Resident Fellow in Larkin House, a freshman dormitory. It was a testament to her spirit of adventure even when facing the challenges of a serious illness.
Georgia was an intelligent and creative woman. She loved to design, quilt, and paint. Many of her projects were displayed in her home. She was an avid reader and writer and conversationalist. Georgia and Roger travelled the US and the world. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and many friends. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring.
