Wanda Gorochow

Victor: Monday, February 17, 2025 at age 103. Predeceased by her husband, Gabriel Gorochow and her daughters, Tamara Warren and Vera Boomhower  

Wanda is survived by her children, Lora (Dr. Prakash) Pande, Alexander (Deborah) Gorochow; grandchildren, Deborah (Christopher) Hake-Lee, Jennifer (David) Tinnes, Robby Pande, Sheila Gorochow, Christopher (Jessica) Boomhower, Andrea (James, Jr.) Tapp, Victoria (Kody) Greathouse, Patricia (Jacob) Magin, Teresa Gorochow, Rebecca (Jordan) Hanson; 12 great grandchildren – all of whom fondly referred to their beloved grandmother as “Babushka.”

Wanda was born in Belarus. She was a WWII survivor. Wanda, her husband and two daughters came to the United States in 1950. Here, she had two more children, and with hard work and determination eventually settled in Irondequoit where she built a happy life and warm home for her family. Her greatest passions in life were her family, her garden and “feeding her family from her garden.”

Her family will receive friends Thursday, February 27, 12:00 - 3:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.), where her funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
