OM-GOD! A year already? It feels and seems like yesterday. My brothers came as a shock, not to talk about one year remembrance. This message is for my nephews (Ifeanyi, Ngozi, Nwanna) and my niece Reynelda Awuleka.
Your father lived long enough to see y'all
Grow your own families
We Thank God for That!
He lived long enough to see his grandchildren
We Thank God for That!
He lived long enough to guide your steps in the right direction
We Thank God for That!
He left good name and Legacy for y'all to be proud of
We Thank God for That!
For the head queen of our Queens: Janice M. Okafor, the children: Ifeanyi, Reynelda, Ngozi and Nwanna; the grandchildren. On behalf of The Okafor Clan in the U.S, Nigeria and everywhere else around the world. We Thank God for the life our brother, our uncle, your wife, your father and grandfather lived.
May his soul continue to Rest in Gods Kingdom. Amen.
Ise! Ise!! Ise!!! (Igbo version of Amen.)
Ijeoma1.

It's a year today, that you departed from your life with us.
God blessed us with 49 years together and four beautiful children!
I thank you for choosing me and being the father to our children!
I often think of you and miss your presence.
I pray that your soul is at peace and that you are resting in the comfort the Lord!
I will always love you!!!
Your wife,
Janice

It is surprising to know that my you left us a year ago. I can’t put to words how much I have missed you - my wonderful brother. It is important to note that you were a mentor and a source of inspiration to me. I learned so much from you and I will never forget the guidance you provided to me over the years. May your soul continues to rest in eternal peace. Amen! - Mark Ofulue Okafor

Hey, young man! It's Doc. Crazy to believe that it's been one year already. We all miss you and that infectious laugh. The kids are growing quickly and I'm definitely seeing/paying for the damage that they're causing (especially your grandson). You warned me that it'll be payback for what I used to do to you and mom and I'm sure you're laughing even more so about it now haha.
May you continue to rest in paradise. Love and miss you, King!
~Doc

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Charles for over 30 years. He was a man of integrity—respectful and humble in spirit. Over the years, we spoke daily, even when I moved to Florida. Our conversations often started with business but always turned to family.
Some of my fondest memories are from the NFL football season, when we’d talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. My son worked for the organization, so Charles and I had plenty to discuss. We’d lament their losses and celebrate their wins like lifelong fans. Charles made those talks fun.
He loved his family deeply. They were often at the heart of our conversations.
I will miss our daily talks, and I will miss my friend—the best of friends. May his soul rest in peace, and may God comfort his family.
Love, Lionel and Family

My grandpops was a man of words , wisdom , humor and much more you really had to know him to see how funny he was . He wasn’t a mean person he was just uptight and didn’t play when it came to the principals of situations and especially when it to came to his family . Growing up I got to see the Charles that was hidden in his shell all his life giving him a chance show his love in ways he didn’t always get a chance to. They always tell me “ grandaddy was never like that with us “ and sometimes it’s kinda nice to hear for me but more nice for them because my Mother and uncles are all wonderful people who were raised by my late Grandfather Charles Okafor and his wife ,my Grandmother Janice Okafor . As you know most times the mom is the one who shows u all the love and the dad is the one who is shows that love tough love especially as an African father there isn’t any games played . I mentioned this” shell “earlier and this shell is more symbolic for my grandfather Charles . Usually when u think of a shell u think an insect with a shell of some sort and it begins to come out of their shell when they’re ready for the transition into their next phase of their life as my Grandfather did . I didn’t get to meet the Charles that was in his youth , stood tall in figure and most importantly his aura which created 4 of the most important people in my life .I got to meet my bald man Charles who loved sleeping , who was yelling at me and grandma about all the noises we made in the car , swiping at my legs making jokes , and all the other memories we shared .
Granddaddy my heart is broken more than ever . I really needed you , you and grandma were more than my grandparents you were my guardian angels really my best friends . Grandfather you stamped your name as a legend and nobody will ever have to fill your shoes because they were taken up with you in heaven the day you left us . It’s our responsibility to walk our own paths through your wisdom and create our own destiny as you would want . I’m sorry gpops this wasn’t how it was supposed to end . Farewell Grandfather I love you and I will take care of your Wife and Daughter as you always told me and the rest of your family . Long live the King .
