(Rochester): Born August 30, 1919 in Ukraine. He passed away peacefully November 13, 2010 at age 91. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by his wife Elly of 55 years, brother-in-law Wasyl Teply, parents Tanas and Ksynka, brother Mykoli, and sister Maria. He is survived by daughters, Christa (Ray) Neale, Anneliese (Ken) Forbes, Sonya (Christian) Thomsen; grandchildren, Kimmy (Tom) Statt, Kristi Scroger (Shawn E), Alicia and Kenny Forbes; great-grandchildren, Cody, Krista, Tommy, Hailey, Dakota, and Shealeen; sister, Stefka Teply; nephews and nieces, Michael, Natalie, Pam, Steven, and Helen; sister-in-law, Anna; close part of the family and friend, Elizabeth (Izabella) Thomsen. Our "Dad" retired from Gleason Works. He had many trades over the years, machine operator, lumberjack, black smith, and coal miner. He was a very hard working man and his main concern was to provide and care for his family. He spoke eight different languages and loved to read (self-taught). For those of you that knew him, he loved to talk and tell stories of his past and geographical knowledge such as how many square miles in every country in the world. He is safe and happy once again being reunited with his beautiful wife Elly, with all the time in the world to dance the nights away in each other's arms as they did when they first met. Special thanks to his primary care physician Dr. Farokh Foroozesh for taking such good care of our "Dad". Family and friends may call at Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy South FRIDAY November 19 from 4-8 PM. His funeral service will be held SATURDAY 10:00 AM November 20, at the Harris Funeral Home. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Lolly Pop Farm, in Wasyl's name.
