I am saddened to hear about Dennis’ passing. Having played hockey with him at Irondequoit, riding around town in his Boss Mustang and listening to CSN&Y (loudly) he was a fun loving great guy with a perpetual smile. I was lucky to have had him as a friend and teammate. My condolences to the Cerame family, he will be missed by all. R.I.P. brother.

The first time I met Dennis it was not a meeting but a collision at center ice. We were playing hockey in the Irondequoit Hockey league. Dennis played for Marine Midland and I played for Irondequoit Garden Center. We collided at center ice and our skates got tangled and locked together. We both pulled and struggled to get free but finally the ref came blew his whistle and untangled us. Later we played hockey for Irondequoit. Dennis loved life, his family and his friends. I always felt glad to be with him no matter what we were doing. He was just a great guy and his passing is really hard. I pray he is resting now. God bless you D!

I got to know Dennis through my brother, Pete, back in the 1970's and I think I was part of the original HOBBIT IMPORTS softball team that Dennis & Pete put together too many years ago to remember. I wish I had still had one of those maroon/grey jerseys or even a picture of one, but I do remember that while we were not the best softball team around, we may have had the most fun.
I remember one time we played in a weekend tournament, where we were clearly outmatched, except for the fact that we enjoyed playing so much it did not really matter that the 15 run rule was invoked - against us!
Having recently lost Pete and now Dennis, I have to think they are both up there somewhere, having a smile and sharing a story.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cerame family for your loss.

I am saddened for all who were blessed to have Dennis touch their lives. I worked with him at Star Market and often went out with him after work. He was such a sweetheart and a true gentleman, alway making you feel special. Life will never be the same without you for all who knew you. Until we meet again, may God hold you in his arms.

So sorry to hear that Dennis has passed. I had the pleasure of catching up with him last summer for our 50th BK HS reunion. I would have never known he was battling an illness. Many great memories of the Cerame family and Dennis in particular as we attended grammar school at St Margaret Mary's and of course HS years at BK and Irondequoit. A wonderful memory I have of Dennis was when my mother asked him to help her arrange a surprise birthday party at our garage on Schofield Rd. I will always appreciate his big heart and infectious smile. Rest in peace good friend .

My condolences to the entire Cerame family. I believe I last saw Dennis at an IHS high school reunion about 6 years ago. My earliest recollections of him go way back to around 1961 or so, when we both attended Parkside Kindergarten together. His mother had apparently met my mother, Esther Connors, at St. Margaret Mary parish, and Mrs. Cerame volunteered to pick me up on Rogers Parkway and drop me off at school. So I vaguely remember getting into the Cerame car with Dennis and attending Kindergarten under Mrs. O'Dell. This was quite nice of Mrs. Cerame, as I recall she lived about 8 or nine blocks up a street off of St. Paul (Simpson?). At noon I walked home with Karen O'Brien. I attended St. Margaret Mary elementary school from 1st to 3rd grade, but I can't remember Dennis at St. Margaret Mary. I regret losing touch with him over the years, especially given that I see he loved jazz and fishing like I do.

Dennis will forever be missed but never forgotten. He made sure of that. He would do anything for anybody because he cared. I am honestly the newest into his community. I met Dennis 15 years . ago when i was young dumb and thought i knew everything. Dennis was nice enough to let me know I was still a 20 something idiot and knew nothing. But just by watching his behaviors and the people he kept around taught me a lot He advised me on many things thru our time together and honestly made me a better man
i am crushed our time was cut short. But feel like the luckiest person in the world that we crossed paths.
Miss you all ready brother..

My fondest memory of Dennis is when we celebrated my birthday at the Seneca casino. I met Dennis through a mutual friend, and the three of us would share laughs and drinks. He was the ultimate fun, loving guy I will miss his smile and his generous nature.
