I had the tremendous opportunity to work with Dawn at Brighton Middle School. It was clear that she was a true professional and acutely knowledgeable about her field of study, autism. Most importantly, she showed everyone that she came across love, empathy and care. We have lost truly one of a kind. Heaven has gained an angel in every sense of he word. Dr. V-E's legacy and impact will undoubtedly be felt in the Nazareth and Rochester community for a very very long time. I personally am so grateful for her guidance and support during my time at Nazareth. I am a better professional, and human because of Dr. V-E. Beyond the classroom, it was so clear that she was such a loved person, and an amazing mother. Whenever her kiddos would visit Nazareth for an event, I can clearly remember how they greeted her with such loving energy and affection. My thoughts are with her family, and all of the loved ones that were close to Dr. V-E.
