July 30, 1944 - June 30, 2025

Janet is survived by her husband, Eugene Sarbou; her step- daughters, Alesia (Rodney) Behrend, Karen (Scott) Richardson, Sandra (Paul) Wion; her son, Steve Sarbou; her brothers, George, Doug, and Ronald (Vicki) McNeil; her granddaughters, Katie, Isabel, and Megan; her grandsons, Daniel, Garrett, and Michael; as well as many wonderful cousins and dear friends across the country.

She is predeceased by her parents, Dempsey and Dolores McNeil; and her sister, Sharon (Bill) Johnson.

Born and raised in Holdredge, Nebraska, Janet grew up on a large farm that she held fond memories of for her entire life. Janet was a pilot and member of The Ninety-Nines, an international association for women pilots. She enjoyed volunteering at both the Susan B. Anthony House and the Irondequoit Public Library. Janet always supported her husband’s sailing, even though she got seasick. She was a small lady with a big heart and the perfect wife to Gene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Irondequoit Public Library or The Ninety-Nines.
