Obituary of Bart R. Psaila
Pittsford- Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the age of 90. Bart is predeceased by his wife,Sally Psaila; son, Steven Psaila. He is survived by his loving sweetheart of 25 years Catherine Walzer; daughters, Barbara Spencer and Susan Psaila (James Haller); daughter-in-law, Marisa Psaila; grandchildren, Evan (Michelle) Spencer, Eric (Kristin) Spencer, Caroline Spencer (Matt Brennan), Griffin (Holly) Psaila, Summer Psaila, Mia Haller, Liam Haller, and Chloe Haller; brother, John Psaila along with 6 great-grandchildren and many loved ones in the Walzer family.
Bart was a proud graduate of Purdue University. Anytime he saw someone with a Purdue hat or T-shirt, he’d stick out his hand and say," Bart Psaila, Purdue 56". He was a pharmacist for many years, first at Edwards Department Store downtown, then Cramer’s Pharmacy in Greece, and then in his own store across from Genesee Hospital. Medical Arts Pharmacy was a stop-in spot for so many from the hospital or with people who lived downtown, including many old Rochesterians who loved his respect, his professionalism, and his sense of humor. He had jokes and nicknames for everyone and made them all feel like they were the most important person in the world. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and went to many baseball, soccer, and lacrosse games with his trusty plastic webbed lawn chair! He was a fierce tennis player and loved watching his children and grandchildren enjoy the game. He was devoted to his St. Louis Cardinals and the Cleveland Browns. He was married to Sally for 44 years, and after she passed in 2000, he found happiness again with his sweetheart, Catherine. They travelled frequently and enjoyed a busy, happy life for 25 years until his age slowed him down physically. He read constantly and loved a crossword challenge or an energetic political discussion! The memory of his love and care for us all will keep him with us always.
His family will receive friends Monday, July 7, 4-7 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Bart’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 10:00 am at the funeral home.
