Obituary of John Pickens

Rochester-  Pickens, John.  Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the age of 65.   John is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Sonja M. Pickens. John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Jeanne and their son, Josh (Brittiny) Pickens; brother, Roy Pickens and sister, Renee Botsford; Nieces and nephews: Crystal Botsford, Kaili Botsford, Rachael Botsford, Telicea (Matt) Lucci, Ilana Edens and Chaz Edens.  Great niece and nephew: Ellie and Oliver. Also survived by his loving cousins, Lorraine Hess, Darlene Huettisch and Michelle (Stan) Krause and many dear friends.

John worked most of his life as a talented carpenter. His skilled hands made many things including furniture. John enjoyed building things of wood and was always looking for something to create.

John was a loving, devoted husband and father as well as cherished friend. He will be remembered for many things including kindness, loyalty,  his wonderful sense of humor that could always bring a smile to your face and make people laugh.  Some of John’s interests included cooking, wood working, drawing, fishing, playing cards and animals,  but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, friends and beloved dog Bella. John was always there to help out when someone needed a hand.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his loving family.

His family will receive friends Saturday, July 19, 12:00 - 2:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.) where his memorial service will be held at 2:00pm. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations in John's memory can be made to the Alzheimers Association.
