Obituary of Hildegarde F Romeo

Hildegarde F. Romeo, 92, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community. She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Dr. Salvatore Romeo and by her loving parents Alfonso and Laura DiNardo.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and sharing her love of cooking. Hildegarde's legacy lives on through her children Frank (Deborah) Romeo, Dr. Allan (Marcia) Romeo, Laurylann Romeo Costanzo (Victor Costanzo), and the Honorable Stacey M. Romeo (Michael Schmitt).

She was a devoted grandmother to Francesca, Alexandra, Salvatore, Allan John (AJ), Marco, Giuliana, and Joey, who will deeply miss her presence. Hildegarde is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Kirkhaven Senior Living Community for their compassionate care and support. Donations may be made in Hildegarde's memory to Kirkhaven Senior Living Community, 254 Alexander St, Rochester, NY 14607.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 9, 4-7 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Hildegarde’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 10:00 am at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Christ the King Church, 445 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY 14617 . Interment following the service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
