Obituary of Renato Apollonio
Renato (Ron) Apollonio passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 after a long fought battle with cancer. He was born in Gottolengo, Italy in 1941 and came to the States in 1955. He is predeceased by his father; Giuseppe Nello and mother; Giacomina, brothers, Claudio and Adriano. He is survived by his wife Janet of 49 years, his brothers, Antonio, Attilio (Ruth); sisters, Patricia (Mike), Diana (Kevin), and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Brenda, Sharon (Vince) and brother-in-law, Michael (Belinda). Ron has many cousins who still live in Italy and was especially close to his cousin, Aldo, who we have visited many times. Also survived by lifelong friend,Tom Borrelli, who was always ready with a funny joke.
A special thank you to Dr. Imran and the RGH oncology staff for their wonderful care and kindness to Ron.
Ron worked at Xerox for 30 years, earning three awards for patents for his work on copiers. He loved anything to do with airplanes and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 12-2 pm at Paul Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway (corner of Titus Avenue). Interment will be private at a later date.
