Obituary of Catherine L. Clark
Webster, NY – August 24, 2025
Catherine "Kate" L. Clark, lovingly known to many as Katie or Cathy, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, surrounded by her children in the compassionate care of hospice following a courageous battle with advanced-stage Cholangiocarcinoma.
To know Kate was to know kindness in its purest form. Her gentle, caring heart defined her. She lived a life centered around service, thriving most when she could ease the burdens of others. A dedicated caregiver, much of Kate’s career was spent as a home health aide and comfort companion, where she especially found purpose in supporting individuals with dementia. Her nurturing presence brought peace and dignity to so many in their most vulnerable moments.
But Kate was so much more than her work. She was joy in motion—she loved to dance, laugh, and fill a room with warmth. Whether twirling to her favorite music in the kitchen or cracking a joke at just the right moment, Kate had a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and lifted. She was a fierce champion for her people—always standing up for those she loved and offering her strength when others couldn’t find their own.
More than anything, Kate treasured time spent with her family—especially her four grandchildren, who were the lights of her life. Whether sharing a quiet story, a laugh, or a warm embrace, she made every moment feel special.
Kate is survived by her loving sister, Florence (Flo) Walzer; her devoted children, Matthew Clark (Sara Clark), James Clark, and Jessica Dolan (Tim Dolan); and her adored grandchildren, Nathaniel, Aria, Jacob, and Julia. Her legacy of compassion, strength, laughter, and unwavering love lives on in each of them.
A celebration of Kate’s life will be held on Saturday September 6th from 1-4 at 27 Victor Mendon Rd. Mendon, NY 14506. Parking is available across the street from the home. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful, spirited life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, our family asks that donations be made in Kate’s memory to the Mary Cariola Center of Rochester, NY—a school that supports children with disabilities and the medically fragile. It’s a cause close to our hearts, and to hers, especially as it is the school her grandson Jacob attends. Supporting this organization is a way to continue the legacy of care, compassion, and inclusion that Kate lived by every single day.
