Obituary of Julia A. Maloney
Julia Ann (Notbohm) Maloney, 73, of Hilton, New York, passed away on July 27, 2025. Julie was born April 26, 1952, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, the daughter of Willard and Delores (Derricks) Notbohm. Julie was formerly married to Charles (C.P.) Maloney of Rochester, New York.
Julie graduated from Watertown High School in 1970, then went on to Jefferson Community College, Lasell Junior College, and State University of New York, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.
After graduating, Julie worked as a cytotechnologist at the University of Rochester Medical Center and then as a Cytology Instructor and Supervisor. Throughout her career, she was recognized as a leader and innovator in her field.
Beginning in 2003, Julie embarked on a second career as a certified biology teacher with Rochester City Schools. A lifelong learner, Julie also held a master’s in public administration from Roberts Wesleyan and master’s in education from SUNY Brockport.
Julie especially loved crafts, including needlepoint, crochet, and quilting. Her love of teaching continued, and she often volunteered to teach the craft to others.
Remaining to cherish Julie’s memory are nephews William Notbohm, James Warren, Andrew Notbohm, David Warren, and Michael Warren, and their families.
Preceding Julie in death are her parents, Willard and Delores Notbohm; brother, Mark Notbohm; and sister, Mary Warren.
A memorial service will be held September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at Paul Harris Funeral Home (570 Kings Hwy So.) in Irondequoit, New York. Interment will be held October 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
