Obituary of Anna J. Deon
Anna J. Deon, 82, of Brasher Falls, New York, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, just one week shy of her 83rd birthday. Born Anna J. Phelix, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice Phelix and grew up in a large family with eight siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Deon, and her siblings Charles, Floyd, Milford, Clifford, Raymod, and Marie.
Anna devoted her life to raising her family and caring for others. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her children Connie, Robert, and John, and was predeceased by her children Theresa and Mary. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A devoted homemaker, Anna also held various jobs over the years, finding her work caring for the elderly the most rewarding. She provided compassionate care both in private homes and in nursing facilities, and her skills, patience, and kindness left a lasting impact on those she served. Outside of her work and family, she found joy in crocheting, embroidery, word puzzles, and reading.
Anna’s life was defined by service, love, and resilience. Even as her health declined in recent years, she remained deeply connected to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she nurtured.
As per her wishes, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Ann’s Community, which played a compassionate role in her care during her final years.
