Irondequoit.  Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the age of 85.  Antonio is predeceased by his wife Janice La Pietra and parents Carmine and Caterina La Pietra.  He is survived by his children, Andrew (Lynn), Mathew, Christine (Hector) Vargas, Peter (Dawn), Philip (Tonia), and Mary, grandchildren Jordan, Fletcher, Caleb, Joe, Ali & Warren, Hector, Antonio, Daniel & Giovanna, Alexandria & Jacob, Nicholas & Michael, Joan (Ryan) Dube.

Tony was a 1958 graduate of East High School. He was an electrical drafter, working for many years at RF Communications before becoming an independent contractor.  While attending East High School, he became a member of a doo-wop quartet known as the Corvettes who created songs such as In The Chapel and The Swinging Smitty (listen below). He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard where he continued to sing in a quartet. Later in life he became an avid Karaoke singer, both in Rochester and in Tampa, Florida.

Tony loved to travel, and especially enjoyed trips to see family in Lanciano, Italy.  He was a great cook and enjoyed trying new dishes from international cultures.  As a devout Traditional Catholic, Tony had a deep devotion to Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and a great love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, always proud of his catholic heritage.

His family will receive friends Friday, November 7th from 3-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South).  Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 9:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church for his Tridentine Funeral Mass.  Interment Irondequoit Cemetery.  In memory of Antonio, memorial donations may be made directly to the Thomas More Society or Masses may be offered for the repose of his soul.
