Obituary of Mario Ferruzza
Irondequoit: Saturday, November 22, 2025. Predeceased by his loving wife, Teresa Ferruzza, parents, Luciano and Lucia Ferruzza, brother Paul (Maria) Ferruzza, sister Guiseppina (Rosario) Gulino, brother-in-law Dino Fioravanti, sister-in-law, Stephanie Ferruzza. Mario is survived by his children, Luciana (Jonathan) Lane, Mario J. Ferruzza, Amalia (Michael) Carbone; grandchildren, Dominic, Adriana, Carissa, Gabriella, Eliza, Marienzo, Fulton; brothers, Andrew (Josephine) Ferruzza and Frank Ferruzza; sisters, Angelina Ferruzza and Anna Fioravanti; and many nieces and nephews.
Mario was born in Castellana Sicula, Italy. He grew up with a natural warmth, kindness, and a deep love for the people around him. Throughout his life, he was known for his steady work ethic, warm sense of humor, and the quiet strength he carried into every aspect of life.
He built a life anchored by love for his family, friends, and colleagues who were fortunate to know him. Whether he was sharing stories, offering a helping hand, or simply showing up when it mattered, Mario had a way of making others feel supported and seen.
After retiring from GM, he took great pride in gardening, where his dedication and patience were evident in his ability to grow almost anything. When he wasn’t tending to his garden or maintaining his yard, he found joy in tinkering; he could fix just about anything and was always eager to lend that skill to others. He especially cherished time spent with his family. Holidays, gatherings, and everyday moments alike were made better by his presence.
Above all, Mario was a devoted father, husband, nonno, zio, brother, and godfather. His family was the center of his world. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Friends are invited to join the family Tuesday, December 2nd, 10:00 am at St. Kateri at St. Cecilia Church, 2732 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14622 for his funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
