Obituary of Joan H. Frazier (Hopper)
Joan H. Frazier (Hopper)
Irondequoit: On December 11, 2025, at age 80.
She is predeceased by her husband, William “Al” Frazier Jr.; parents, Elmer and Marian Hopper; and brother, Tom Hopper. Joan is survived by her step-daughter, Lorna (Randy) Maier; sister-in-law, Leeda Hopper; niece, Noelle (Barry) Hewitt; nephews, Brian (Susan) Hopper and Bruce (Kelly) Hopper; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and her cat Snickers.
Joan found joy in all she did; she was filled with kindness and adventure. She was organized and a self-sufficient planner in all aspects of her life.
Joan dedicated over 20 years to the Girl Scouts before establishing her own business, Wall Expressions, as a painter and wall-covering contractor, well-regarded for her craftsmanship for 27 years.
Joan loved to plan trips and travel. She enjoyed adventures near and far from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, to the Adirondack and Algonquin parks, to the wilderness of Alaska, and hiking the Grand Canyon with her husband, "Al". She loved a good road trip and being in the outdoors, spending time hiking, camping, canoeing, and bird watching.
A regular churchgoer, Joan volunteered her time at the annual Parish garage sale and drove fellow church members to medical appointments. Joan was a generous philanthropist to various organizations that were close to her heart, for which she was recognized and honored. Joan loved to go to Geva and the Penfield Symphony Orchestra, and she enjoyed fine wines and antiques.
Joan was a very kind and trusted friend who would drop what she was doing at a moment’s notice to help her friends. She always had a smile on her face, always saw the positive, and loved to laugh. She was joyful, a pleasure to be around, and a spectacular conversationalist who was easy to talk with. She will be dearly missed by her friends, family, her cat Snickers, and ‘Team Joan’.
Friends are invited to meet the family on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Ann’s Home Chapel, 1550 Portland Avenue, for her Funeral Mass. Inurnment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Girl Scouts of America or the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
