Giving thanks for the brave Froschmeiers starting new life in America in the 1950s, and then the special connection made between Ilse and Jim….These 2 pictures pay tribute to those early years and the hope of years to come….Thank you, Lord, for the faithfulness of our grandparents and parents, and especially the faithfulness of our Aunt Ilse today.

Liebe Tante Ilse, we are giving thanks for you and your life. We miss you here, but so glad you can now be with Uncle Jim, Oma, Opa and others on the heavenly side. Thank you for being my faithful, encouraging, loving Godmother for all these years. I especially enjoyed these last years hearing more of the stories from earlier days in Germany and then the new start in Rochester. I copied in a few favorite photos - a celebratory one and 2 from Canada. We have many good memories from Loon Lake and cottage days. What a gift to be up there together with you and be blessed in that wonderful setting. Paddle boating was always fun! Danke schön für die viele gute Erinnerungen. Thanks be to God for you. Dear Ilse — I was always so happy that you were my mother-in-law. I have so many fond memories of your kindness and generosity. You laughed at all my jokes, and you never let me go hungry. I will miss you dearly. This is the first photo I ever took of you – alongside my high school girlfriend – nearly five decades ago.

Ilse and Jim were my second parents. Pattie and I have been best friends since 6th grade. I was over every day after school and sleepovers on weekends. Ilse and Oma taught me how to sew. We made bathing suits and tennis outfits since Pattie and I loved to play tennis. Was at the cottage weekends and weeks in the summer enjoying sunbathing and water skiing and Oma and Opa's baking and cooking. Had the pleasure of caring for Jim and Ilse for a time. Loved cooking for them especially Jim he loved my onion sandwich and onion salad after dialysis. This is just so sad for me. I loved them so much. I am so sorry for Jim, Pattie and Tom and all their families. I am just so sad.

My fondest memories of my Aunt were at our cottages on Loon Lake in Canada. She was always smiling, always complete with hair & makeup ( just like me) and always carried herself with class! I loved listening to her & my mom on the dock laughing and catching up. I am saddened by her passing, and extend my condolences to my cousins.
