Obituary of Carl A. Wisniewski

Carl A. Wisniewski passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by family. Carl is survived by his cherished wife of 40 years, Roseann; daughters, Alyssa Wisniewski (Michael Pappas), and Carla Achtyl (Mark); siblings, Mary Ellen W. Hern (Damon), Linda Wisniewski, and Mark Wisniewski; and beloved cat, Geddy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Marilyn Wisniewski; and nephew, Alexander Hern. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, family and friends.

Carl was born on November 11, 1958, in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Carl will be remembered as a kind and hard-working father, husband and friend, who encouraged curiosity, exploration, and adventure. He was an innovator and took no shortcuts when it came to maintaining his home and belongings. He loved woodworking, cars and his motorcycle, rock and roll music, and was the band Rush’s #1 fan. Carl often inspired others through his unwavering dedication to help others, even being bestowed Irondequoit’s Good Neighbor Award.

A memorial gathering is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th, 2026, from 11am to 2pm, at Paul W Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY 14617. All are invited to attend and celebrate Carl’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Irondequoit Community Cupboard, and/or Wild Wings Bird of Prey Sanctuary. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for the care and comfort they brought to all.
