We had many great times and some wonderful memories created over the years, from Vince Lombardi youth football to ballin' at IHS to San Diego some years later where you welcomed me with open arms into your home and work life, which became my career to this day. Generous and supportive & always a load of laughs, you'll be greatly missed. RIP, JY. Your friend, Dan Kausch

Sports & school the common activities and memories our family and the Young family shared. I can't imagine the hurt losing a sibling can be. It must be devastating to lose the youngest sibling for certain. I watched Jim grow up a bit and was fortunate to coach him with my youngest brother, Dan who became a close friend of Jim's. They won a Section V Football Championship at IHS
and I believe that was the only high school championship our parents witnessed together with the Young family. The Youngs had a very close and well known family in Irondequoit because their kids were known in athletic circles as talented. The family was also known as hardworking and had strong family values. Jim encouraged and helped my youngest brother make the life decision to "go west young man" and he really helped him to get his start in the recruiting business. Jim gave my brother a lot of support in San Diego and was truly a brother to him. My heart goes out to the Young family and especially Jim's daughters. As a grandfather now, I believe Jim would have made a great one. Youngs are in our prayers.

JY was a leader of the Fisher football team. He set the expectation level high and the intensity level 10x higher. Sharing this news w my teammates they all said “I can still hear that JY INTENSE voice.” What a great person that we were lucky to know and to play a kids game with! I speak for many in saying, My/Our Best to JY’s Family.

I was friends with Jim at St. Thomas and we spent a lot of time at each others’ homes growing up. Being at the tail end of big families, we had a lot in common.
I hope that you are comforted by happy memories. I will remember Jim and all of his family in my prayers.
