Elizabeth A. “Liz” Rush

Irondequoit – On March 11, 2026 at age 96. She is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Donald Bourbon. Liz is survived by her nieces, Lisa (Mark) Dreimiller and Julie Bourbon; nephew, David (Wendi) Bourbon; great-nieces, Kelly Dreimiller, Jennifer (Kelly) Bourbon and Julianna Bourbon; great-nephews, Nicholas (Samantha) Dreimiller and Stephen (Gretta) Bourbon; and great-great-niece, Murphy Dreimiller.

Liz was a loving Aunt who always made time for, and had fun with her nieces and nephews. She especially took pride in becoming a great-great aunt and so enjoyed her many pictures of, and visits with Murphy.

Liz will be remembered as a devoted professional, dedicated community member, and someone whose generosity and warmth touched many lives. Throughout her life, she believed strongly in giving back to her community and supporting the organizations that helped make it stronger.

She spent 43 years working as a secretary for Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E), where her commitment, professionalism, and friendly presence made her a valued colleague and friend to many. Her work ethic and reliability were hallmarks of her career, and she took pride in supporting the people and projects around her.

Beyond her professional life, Liz was deeply involved in civic and charitable organizations throughout the Rochester area. She was an active member of Locust Hill Country Club, where she enjoyed the friendships and sense of community the club fostered. Her dedication to local business and civic engagement led her to serve as Past President of the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce, where she worked to support local businesses and strengthen the community she loved.

Her passion for preserving local history was reflected in her service as a past board member of the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse, helping to support one of Rochester’s most cherished historic landmarks. She was also a proud member of St. Ann’s “Annie’s Angels,” where she participated in charitable activities that helped others in need.

Liz generously gave her time to many charitable and volunteer efforts throughout the community. She volunteered with the LPGA during tournaments held in the Rochester area and served as a volunteer at Genesee Hospital, where her kindness and compassion were appreciated by patients and staff alike. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Charlotte Chapter. In addition, she supported children and families through her work on the Holy Childhood Golf Committee, helping organize events that benefited the mission of Holy Childhood and the individuals it serves. Her kindness, energy, and willingness to volunteer made a lasting difference in every organization she was part of.

Those who knew her will remember her not only for her dedication to service, but also for her warmth, generosity, and the friendships she built throughout her life. She believed in the power of community, and her legacy lives on through the many organizations she strengthened and the many people whose lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends may call at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy S., Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Liz’s Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 19, 10:00 AM at St. Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church, 401 Rogers Parkway, Rochester, NY 14617. Interment to follow at Irondequoit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to Lollypop Farm, Annie’s Angels or School of the Holy Childhood in Liz’s memory.
