Obituary of Eleanor Holmes Pelcher

Eleanor Holmes Pelcher passed away peacefully March 27, 2026, in the city that she loved, Rochester, NY and near her home in the woods on Oakridge Drive.

“Ellie” is predeceased by two husbands, Edmund “Tom” Holmes, and Kenneth “Ken” Pelcher. She is survived by son Brian Holmes, his wife Kelly, and beautiful granddaughter, Vivienne. She is also survived by stepchildren Debbie Wallenhorst, Tim and Steve Pelcher, Amanda Jorgensen, their spouses, thirteen step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.

She graduated from State College High School and Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, and Nazareth College in New York.

Ellie was a member of Saint Kateri Parish, the Irondequoit Art Club, George Eastman House, Rochester Museum of Science Women’s Council, and the Memorial Art Gallery.

A special thank you to Ellie’s beloved neighbors on Oakridge Drive, past and present, and to Jackie Moll.

Her son Brian is planning an inurnment ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery later this year, followed by a celebration of life. For further information, email Brian at holme074@yahoo.com.
