As a fellow resident at Chapel Oaks, Jack was a good friend of mine. We both worked at Kodak and were fellow employees at the Hawkeye Plant and were both involved with engineering of military equipment. Jack possessed a great sense of humor and was prone to make sarcastic comments at times which I learned to appreciate. When dining with Jack, for example, he would at times jokingly scolded me for my eating habits, partly due to my poor vision. Once I was struggling to open a packet of crackers and he took it and easily tore it open for me. Not bad for somebody eight years my senior! I would often see Jack walking the hallways, and on occasion, we shared the gymnasium using exercise equipment. I miss Jack, a true friend, but value over two years of companionship with such a great person.
