Robert G. Thompson

Irondequoit - Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 with his wife by his side. He was an avid sportsman who proudly raised four boys in his image. As a professional, he was an entrepreneur who originated the first coupon book, he was the owner of Penfield Sports, and Prime Line Communications.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sally; his four sons, Jay (Keri), Scott, Brett (Lisa) and Bobby (Danielle); his grandchildren, Brady, Conner, Kayla, Maya, Luke, Amanda, Will, Scott, Charlie and Riley. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth, Anne Marie (Darryl) and William (Sally); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy; and his sister, Patricia. 
A celebration of his life will be held at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy. S., Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Robert’s Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 10, 10:00 AM at St. Kateri at St. Margaret Mary Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
