Obituary of Helen Chmil

Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Helen. We will always remember the incredible kindness, love, and support she gave throughout her life. Helen was a second mom, a sister, and a friend to so many who loved her. As a dedicated registered nurse, Helen devoted herself to caring for others both professionally and personally. Compassionate, intelligent, and thoughtful, she was always there with a listening ear, comforting presence, and wise advice through life’s challenges. Helen had a deep love for animals and found great joy in caring for them. Her gentle spirit and caring heart touched everyone who knew her. Helen will be remembered for her selflessness and the lasting impact she made on the lives around her. While she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing Helen is now at peace in Heaven.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Andrij and Michalina Chmil and her sister in-law, Ana Chmil.

She is survived by her siblings, Mary Ann (James) DuBreck, Stephen Chmil, Bohdan Chmil; niece, Laura (Jeffrey Mason) Chmil-Mason; nephew, Michael Chmil; niece, Christyne (Daniel Smith) Chmil; niece, Christyne (Jay) Moore; niece, Jennifer (Vinny) Kovalick; many other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South. Family and friends are also invited to join the family on Friday, May 15th from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home and immediately follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
