Obituary of Thomas J. McCulloch
Thomas James McCulloch, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on February 6, 1934, in Mansfield, Ohio, Tom lived a life defined by devotion to family, service to country, hard work, loyalty, and quiet generosity. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, engineer, veteran, and friend whose steady presence touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Paula. The two were married in December of 1956 and built a remarkable life together grounded in love, partnership, and unwavering commitment through nearly seventy years of marriage.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Tom earned his degree in mechanical engineering and carried his Buckeye pride throughout his life. Saturdays in the fall were reserved for Buckeyes football, and he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on Ohio State.
Tom dedicated 25 years of his professional career to Eastman Kodak where he was respected for his intelligence, work ethic, and thoughtful approach to problem-solving. He took great pride in his work and in providing a strong foundation for his family.
He was also deeply dedicated to the principles and fellowship of the Freemasonry, remaining an active and proud Mason for more than 50 years. Tom valued the brotherhood, service, integrity, and charitable spirit that Freemasonry represented, and he carried those principles throughout his life in the way he treated others — with kindness, honesty, and respect.
More than any professional accomplishment, Tom treasured being a husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula; his son, Mike McCulloch, and daughter-in-law, Maria; and his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Melissa.
Tom was one of the most loyal supporters of his grandchildren’s activities and sports. Whether it was school events, swim meets, or long hours spent sitting in some of the coldest ice rinks in Western New York, he was always there — cheering proudly from the stands with encouragement and love.
Those who knew Tom will remember his calm strength, sharp wit, steady guidance, and deep devotion to family. He lived with humility and integrity, valuing hard work, loyalty, and time spent with the people he loved most.
His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless memories shared across generations.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30th from 10:00am-12:00pm at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South. Inurnment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
