Dear Mary and the Phillips Family,
We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Phillips. Please accept our heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.
We will always remember him as one of the kindest teachers . He didn't just teach us history; he truly cared about his students and brought so much warmth and patience to the classroom. His dedication to his students and the Hilton community left a lasting impact on so many of us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as you celebrate his wonderful life.
With deepest sympathy, The Class Of 1985 ..

Bob was an early participant at several “Law and the Social Studies” summer institutes I ran in Webster in the late seventies. He coached the first Hilton High School mock trial team and was an enthusiastic supporter of a new approach to teaching citizenship education to students in the wake of Watergate and other national scandals in politics. Several years later he shifted his focus to coaching the Model UN team as an another experiential learning approach in social studies education. He was a great proponent for hands on learning of life skills in and out of the classroom. Bob leaves a wonderful legacy of students who have learned the importance of thoughtful reading, writing and speaking on important issues of the day. Kudos to Bob for a life well lived.

I remember Coach Phillips from many years ago, coaching Kristen and me in Irondequoit Soccer. He was so positive and helped us to love the game and come together as a team. Praying for you during this time.

Mr Phillips had such a light and was always encouraging and your biggest fan! He always found the silver lining and glass half - full attitude. He made YOU think about what you were in search of, and a positive role model on my school journey...Mrs Phillips and he were a Team and appreciated them both! I am thinking of Mrs Phillips and their family. They have to know what an impact he made! A Life truly well lived! Be at Peace Mr P! Fly High! <3

Mr Phillips..my favorite teacher. He had such passion in all the subjects I took with him. He had such a good natured way about him. He truly was a remarkable man as well as educator. Over the years I thought of him many times and I will respect his memory with love and honor.

Bob's effervescent personality captivated all who were fortunate enough to know him. Handsome, smart, delightful, talented, and generous—the list goes on. His life touched so many people, and his memory will continue to do so.
May we continue to support efforts to lessen the devastating impact of Parkinson's disease and dementia on individuals and families. May time, cherished memories, and the love of family and friends bring comfort to his wife, children, and grandchildren in the days ahead, and may he rest in eternal peace.
