I first met Don when he was in the DA's office. I was always impressed with his sense of integrity and commitment. He made me proud as Monroe Democratic Chair when he ran for election as DA, after succeeding Larry Kurlander. He was a very conscientious candidate, and I considered him a good friend.

I am very sorry for your loss. Don was a good lawyer and a good friend. He was very supportive of me in the dozen years I was associated with his office. His passing creates a big void in the Rochester legal community.
So sorry for your loss on Don. I served with the NY State Police when he was superintendent. He was always a gentleman and a good leader. In my view, he was one of the best leaders the State Police ever had. He will be missed by the many he served.

As it eventually turned out. I am so thankful that he found you and had you to the very end. I needed time to compose my thoughts before I could write my words of expression. Don made history in the legal community when he made me a partner in the firm. As the first African-American female attorney to be a partner in a majority law firm, I was proud to be his partner. He was a mentor, friend and a loyal colleague over the years and I will always remember his support. Don, was proud of the firm and his partners. A great legal giant has passed on.
