Obituary of Grace Marie (D'Ambra) DeMarco

Grace Marie (D'Ambra) DeMarco

Irondequoit - On June 27, 2026 at age 86. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald DeMarco; brother-in-law, Michael Naylon; sister-in-law, Deborah Catallo. Grace is survived by her daughters, Laura (Alan) Alliet, Valerie D’Ambra and Debra D’Ambra; siblings, Clara (George) Blanda, Beverly Naylon, Larry Catallo, Maryann (Karen Stookes) Catallo and George (Carole) Catallo; brother-in-law, Richard (Barb) DeMarco; many nieces and nephews.

Our beloved and dearly cherished mother, Grace Marie DeMarco, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026.

Born in Rochester, New York on May 28, 1940, to Paul and Vera (Fornorola) Marzano, Grace graduated from Jefferson High School in 1958.  Following graduation, she pursued her passion for hairdressing and cosmetology.

Throughout her life, Grace worked at Blossom Dairy, Hershberg Jewelers, and several other places where she especially enjoyed meeting people and helping others.  She later retired from General Motors AC/Delco on Lyell Avenue.

Grace was warm, sociable, and kind to everyone she met.  Her laugh was truly contagious, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with family and friends.  One of her favorite daily routines was feeding and watching the birds in her yard.  She enjoyed music and was a devoted member of the choir at Christ the King.

Each month, Grace looked forward to gathering with her dear Jefferson High School classmates—the “Lunch Bunch”—for Tuesday lunches at Ezzy’s Restaurant on Buffalo Road.  She also enjoyed visits to DiVincenzo Bakery, browsing the Hallmark Store and Macy’s, and shopping at Wegmans.

Above all else, Grace’s daughters were the greatest joy of her life.  Thoughtful, generous, and very compassionate, Grace touched many lives through her kindness and love.

Amazing Grace.  May she now rest in God’s eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
