No one can understand the sorrow and grief you must be feeling. My family’s hearts, as well as mine, reaches out to you and your family with the greatest of sorrow over your loss. I am sure you and your family are together at this time and will share the good memories as well as the love you must have shared with Lydia. To Mary Ellen and all of Lydia's family and loved ones, so many prayers and thoughts have been with you since I saw the obituary in Sundays newspaper and went to the funeral homes website and I am so very sorry for everyone's loss. Mary Ellen - you have had a very special place in my heart forever and its been there since the day we met at Dr Ippolito's office and all the great care you always gave me and you will always be one of life's many blessings I am so very thankful for and all the beautiful cards you have sent and we have sent really nice cards to each other the love we share. I remember Lydia coming to our house when my daughter was having a candle party. I remember her growing up through the years. I remember her struggles. She was always a shining star. She worked hard to overcome her adversaries. She will truly be missed

Dear Mary-Ellen and Paul, Matthew and I are so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved daughter, Lydia. Lydia faced more challenges than most people could imagine, yet she continued to fight with remarkable courage and strength. Her resilience through Crohn's disease, mental illness, and substance use struggles reflected the warrior she was. I met Lydia in 3rd grade at Briarwood Elementary. We were in Girl Scouts troop 208 together all the way up until 7th grade. So many sleepovers, prank phone calls, mall trips and campouts. Giggling about boys we had crushes on. Playing dress up. We traveled to Quebec with the French class and to NYC with the Girl Scouts. Forever in my Myspace Top 8. Lydia was always so unapologetically herself. So loving and so much fun to be around. She gave others confidence even when she didn't feel confident herself. I am so lucky to have had her as a close friend in my childhood. Life was unfairly cruel to her but she always seemed to keep a sense of humor and optimism. I knew she was struggling. I tried to offer what help I was able to. I am heartbroken that she is gone, but glad to know she is no longer suffering. Lydia had a massive impact on my life, on who I am as a person. She will not be forgotten. "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other is gold. A circle's round; it has no end. That's how long I want to be your friend."
