Obituary of Lydia Rose Hoderlein
April 12, 1993 - June 18, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lydia, our cherished daughter, by apparent suicide.
She is survived by her parents, Paul Hoderlein and Mary Ellen Armosino-Hoderlein and her brother Matthew J. Hoderlein.
She is also survived by her uncle, John Paul Armosino (Cindy), as well as family and friends including her dear friend Arielle and also Brian who provided a helping hand when needed. There are many more too numerous to mention.
From an early age, Lydia faced challenges related to Crohn’s disease, addiction and mental illness. Despite these hardships, she lived as full a life as she was able.
She loved all things hedgehog, including her beloved Coco. She also loved her black cat Minuit.
She loved clothes, jewelry, crystals, unicorns and lavender especially.
Lydia was involved in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, where she received much loving support and also provided support to others. Much gratitude to her long time sponsor Sarah.
Lydia was appreciative, funny and joyful. However, her pain became overwhelming.
A Memorial Service will be held at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home at 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, New York 14617, Tuesday July 21, 2026 at 5:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or to Unity Chemical Dependency by making a designated gift through the Rochester Regional Health Foundations.
Lydia will be forever missed.
