Obituary of Miledys Marlin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Miledys Marlin (Nana), who passed into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by her family, on July 6, 2026, at the age of sixty-two.

Miledys was born on September 19, 1964, in Haina, Dominican Republic to Miguel and Estervina Made. Throughout her life, she was known for being a kind, exceptionally loyal, generous, and resolute wife, mother, and friend, with a high love for life and an unending sense of humor that made a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Miledys devoted her life to her family and friends and was the soul of all family gatherings. She was a great hostess and will be remembered for having boundless passion for singing. She also took immense pride in serving others in her family and community.

Nana is survived by her husband, Edy Marlin; her children, Luzegnis, Emily and Edy, Jr.; her siblings, Maria (Irving) Cadiz, Jesuito, Manuel de Jesus (Dulce) Orozco, Maria Mamerta, Maria Eduviges, Mireya (Carlos) Belliard, Aracelis (July) Valdes, and Aurelina (Mario) Gonzalez; her brother in-law Eugenio (Carmen) Marlin, sisters in-law, Margarita Marlin and Rosa(Kenny) Strayhorn and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that adore her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Miguel and Estervina Made, and siblings Isabelita, Miguelina, and Hector Julio.

A viewing will be held at Paul Harris Funeral Home at 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, New York 14617, Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Miledys' Funeral Service will be on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at 11:00 A.M at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.

Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate a well lived life.

Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Miledys Marlin (Nana), quien partió a los brazos del Señor, el 6 de julio de 2026, a la edad de sesenta y dos, rodeada de su familia.

Miledys nació el 19 de septiembre de 1964 en Haina, República Dominicana, hija de Miguel y Estervina Made. A lo largo de su vida, fue conocida por ser una esposa, madre y amiga amable, excepcionalmente leal, generosa y dedicada, con un gran amor por la vida y un inagotable sentido del humor que dejó una huella duradera en todos los que la conocieron.

Miledys dedicó su vida a su familia y amistades, y era el alma de todas las reuniones familiares. Fue una gran anfitriona y será recordada por su inmensa pasión por el canto. También se enorgullecía profundamente de servir a los demás en su familia y en su comunidad.

A Miledys le sobreviven su esposo, Edy Marlin; sus hijos, Luzegnis, Emily y Edy, Jr.; sus hermanos, Maria (Irving) Cadiz, Jesuito, Manuel de Jesús (Dulce) Orozco, Maria Mamerta, Maria Eduviges, Mireya (Carlos) Belliard, Aracelis (July) Valdés y Aurelina (Mario) Gonzalez; su cuñado Eugenio (Carmen) Marlin; sus cuñadas, Margarita Marlin y Rosa (Kenny) Strayhorn y muchos sobrinos, sobrinas, primos, y amigos que la adoran.

Fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Miguel y Estervina Made, y por sus hermanos Isabelita, Miguelina y Héctor Julio.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo en Paul Harris Funeral Home, ubicado en 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, New York 14617, el domingo 12 de julio de 2026, de 1:00 p.m. a 4:00 p.m., y el lunes a las 10:00 a.m., seguido del sepelio a las 11:00 a.m. en Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir y celebrar una vida bien vivida.
