My deepest sympathies to Susan’s family. I met Susan through her dad, Graeme, when he and her mom, whom I knew as “Kay,” first moved to the US. Graeme coached me in Chicago until he took the coaching role at Cornell.
I recall Susan as a young child then. Even at that age, she was part of the salle. I recall dinner at their place in Oak Park where her dad and mom introduced me to Australian wines. Her dad was not in favor of too much swim training for triathlons, as he was concerned that it might trade off fencing speed for endurance. Many great memories of Susan and her parents.
Susan was a wonderful child and I am certain she will be missed terribly. You have a great family. Graeme, Kay, and Susan will always be in my heart.
