Obituary of Florence Cassara Bianco

Long time resident of the town of Irondequoit, active member of the community, and local business woman.
Florence served as President of Genesee Building Restoration, a family business started by her father, Ross Cassara and currently run by her son in law, Brian Moran.
Served as President of the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce and President of the advisory committee. Chaired the Irondequoit Kiwanis Club committee that raised funds for the Town Hall gazebo. She was also instrumental in raising funds for the new Irondequoit Library.
Long-time member of the Rochester Yacht Club where she served as President of the Women’s Association and volunteered on several committees.
Served on the Board of Trustees at Bishop Kearney High School where she served on the Finance committee and was an active volunteer for the Marching Kings.
Founding member of the Casa Italiana of Nazareth University. Served on their development committee and Board of Trustee. Florence was very proud of her Italian heritage.
Past President of the Italian Women’s Civic Club. Was responsible for developing the Dante Scholarship Endowment Fund at St. John Fisher University, Nazareth University, and the University of Rochester.
President of the Parish Council and Rosary Guild Club at Christ the King Church. Taught religious education for over 15 years to junior high students.
She was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was watching a soccer, field hockey, or ski race, family meant that world to her. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an avid reader of History novels. 

Florence passed away on July 30, 2026 at the age of 87.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her daughters, Renee (Brian) Moran, Lori Bianco; and her grandchildren, Ellie, Travis, Connor, Sophia.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4th from 4-7pm at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South. Florence’s Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5th at 10am at All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road.
Interment to immediately follow at White Haven Memorial Park.
