Louis A. “Lan” Northrup

Irondequoit – On August 2, 2026 at age 76. He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Gloria Northrup. Lan is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jill; sons, Jason (Alyson) and Dale Northrup; grandchildren, Everett and Rosalie Northrup; sisters, Barbara (Donna Jean Enright) Northrup and Jean (Bill) Yates; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lan grew up in West Irondequoit with his two sisters (Barb and Jean) his parents (Harry and Gloria) and his grandmother (Helen Figler).

He worked in the automotive parts field and retired from Nu-Way Auto Parts in 2012. He loved to fish! Especially with his father and grandfather, who passed away many years ago. He bowled in a league at North Park Lanes, where we met, fell in love, and eventually married in 1980.

He had a love for antique cars. We planned to go to a Barrett-Jackson Car Show, sadly, we never made it.

He loved listening to Frank Sinatra, Big Band Sounds, the Four Freshman and Do-Wop bands.

He was so proud of his two sons (Jason and Dale) and what they became and cherished his two grandchildren (Everett and Rosalie).

We always enjoyed our trips in the fall to the Finger Lakes Region to see the beautiful leaves change color.

He was a simple man, quiet, loving and patient. He will be missed.

Family and friends may call at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy South, Friday, August 21, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Lan’s Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, 10:00 AM at the Christ our Light Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
