Obituary of Anatole "Tony" Koba

Anatole “Tony” Koba
Irondequoit, NY

Passed away on August 30, 2026 at the age of 91.
Born in Ukraine Poltava Region, Tony came to USA in 1949 with his parents, Andrij and Odarka and his sisters.
Tony is predeceased by his parents and sister, Julia.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Slava; two daughters, Roma (Mark) Hill and Natalie (Joe) Steo; grandchildren, Adam Hill, Christina (fiancé Jacob Kuchman) Hill, Alex (Karen) Steo and Peter (fiancé Jules Bouchard) Steo; great-grandson, Dustin Steo; sister, Helen (Mario) Caoile of Portland, OR.
He served in the US Army for 2 years in active duty in Fulda, Germany and 6 years in the reserves. He worked in Construction Sheetmetal Trade for 46 years for Betlem and Postler & Jaeckle. 
Tony enjoyed volunteering for St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church and St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Church. He was also an active member of the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Tony's nurse, caregiver and friend, Wendy Thompson who was loyally by his side till his last breath. Also, thank you to his aides, Brianna Davis and Freda Flemming for their tender care during his last few months.
Family and friends may call at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, Thursday, September 3rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a Panachyda Service at 6:30pm. His Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held on Friday, September 4th at 10:00am at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 940 Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14621.
