Obituary of Lucy N. Jones

Jones, Lucy Nablo Rochester: Lucy Nablo Jones, re sided at 2026 Hudson Ave, Roches ter, NY, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2011, at her home. She was born in Salmon River, NY, on Janu ary 12, 1915. She was the daughter of Fredona Lee Nablo and Herman Walter Nablo. She moved to Rome in 1932 and lived there until 2005, when she moved to Rochester, NY. A 1934 graduate from Rome Free Academy, she worked for several years at Revere Copper and Brass in Rome, NY. She left Revere in 1943 to raise her two daughters and returned to work many years later as Manager of Ladies Fashion at Montgomery Wards. She was a member of the Maple Twig, a volunteer organization for Rome Hospital, and Circle 1, an auxiliary of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a member and a Deacon. Lucy was an avid bridge player and belonged to many bridge clubs. She enjoyed the companionship of her numerous friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Nablo and her sister Mary Nablo Wise. She is survived by: her daughter Trudy Fishman and her husband Marshall of Supply, NC; her daughter Cheryl Davis of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Allison Fishman of Montclair, NJ; Evan Fishman and his wife Laurie of Elkridge, MD; Rebecca Levitsky and her husband David of Huntington, NY; Ryan Davis of Rochester NY; great-grandchildren William and Luke Fishman of Elkridge, MD; Benja min Levitsky of Huntington, NY; as well as sister-in-law Evelyn Nablo of Roanoke, VA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY 14617 on June 11th starting at 10:00am followed by a memorial Service at 11:00am. Internment will be also held on Sat urday at Mt Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to The First Presbyterian Church 108 W. Court St. Rome, NY.13440.
