Maid, Mary Alice (Hogan) Rochester: Went to the Lord on June 28, 2009 at the age 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease. She is predeceased by her parents John E. Hogan and Katherine McDade Hogan; brothers Richard and Robert; sister Barbara H. Craven. Mary Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years Joseph C. Maid, brother, Edward L. Hogan; sisters-in-law, Anna V. Hogan, Mary Jane Hastings and Shirley Pierce; several nieces and nephews. Mary Alice was born in Canandaigua, attended St. Mary's School, graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1948 and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She spent 20 years of her life as a cloistered nun in the Poor Clare's Order. Mary Alice returned to Canandaigua to live with her father and continued her education to receive a BA degree from St. John Fisher College. During that time she met and married Joe Maid. Mary Alice worked as a home care provider with Tender Loving Care. After retiring she cared for her dear friend Millicent. Mary Alice was a selfless, loving person who always put the needs of her husband and others before her own. No prior calling. Friends are invited to meet the family THURSDAY 10:30 AM at SACRED HEART CATHEDRAL for her memorial mass. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14620. The family extends a thank you to the staff and caregivers at St. Ann's Home and to Mary Wiseman for their kindness and care.
