Dauria, Alexander Rochester – Alexander L. Dauria, 89 died Saturday September 19 at home. At Legacy at Blossom Clover unexpectedly of natural causes. He leaves his wife of 66 years Michele (Conte) Dauria, his daughters, Lisa (Jonathan) LeCrone of Indianapolis, Indiana, Donna (Robert) Montgomery of Fairport, NY and son, Alex (Mary Pat) of Sherborn, Massachusetts along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, the son of Frank and Concetta Dauria (Rochester) of three children brother Sam Dauria and Ann Montagna (deceased). A lifelong resident of Rochester, NY with the exception of 17 years in Coral Gable, Florida where the first two of three children were born. Mr. Dauria spent the majority of his working life as an interior design and decorator specializing in the custom upholstery and drapery business both commercial and residential. Mr. Dauria was a craftsman and worked self employed under the business name Drapery by Alexanders. Mr. Dauria served in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre as a Seaman First Class during the height of Word War II. His ship, an LST, participated in the battle for Okinawa. Mr. Dauria received the American Theater Medal, the Victory Medal and the Pacific Theater Medal 1ST Star. Mr. Dauria shared his wife's passion for animals. A true dog lover he passed that love on to his children and grandchildren. An avid gardener, those that knew Mr. Dauria swore he had a green thumb; his touch with plants was truly magical. He was a golfer and he and his wife were a life long twosome. But most of all, he will be remembered as a family man who cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and welcomed each new addition to the extended family. No prior visitation. Friends are invited to meet the family WEDNESDAY 11:00 AM at ST. LOUIS CHURCH (64 S. Main St., Pittsford) for his funeral mass. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations, in Alex's name may be directed to American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
