Grace Campbell Bereza, 102, wife of the late Sylvester Bereza, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Cottingham Hospice House. She lived in Rochester, NY until ten years ago when she moved to Seneca, SC to be near her family. She lived at the Residences at Park Place since 2009. A native of Buffalo, NY, Mrs. Bereza was the daughter of Clarence John and Mabel Brauer Campbell. She was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. She also enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, baking, and was an avid reader who always had a box of chocolates at her side. Mrs. Bereza spent many years of her life sailing with her family on their boat, the Kallipygos, on Lake Ontario. She was very much adored by her family. Mrs. Bereza was a member at Webster United Church of Christ in Webster, NY. Mrs. Bereza was survived by her daughter; Jean Westfall of Salem, SC; daughter in law, Martha Bereza of Tiffin, OH; four grandchildren, Jay Bereza of Fremont, OH, Kirsten White (Brian) of Seneca, SC, Matt Bereza of Tiffin, OH, and Harold Brindley IV (Cristina) of Asheville, NC; three great grandchildren; J. Campbell Lee, Alexandra Lee, and Adam White; nieces and nephews; Jack Schopp (Marie), Margaret Boehme (Larry), Jenny Exton (Jim), Peter Krembel, Irene Gratton (George), Bill Goy, and Rosemary Wright (Fred); and dear friends, Ashley Head, Kyle Hicks, Jenna Menard, Anna Hightower, and David Curro. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bereza was preceded in death by her son, John C. Bereza; son in law, Norman R. Westfall; and sisters, Marie Schopp, Mabel Finks, Alida Krembel, and Elizabeth Robinson. Funeral Service and interment will be held Privately, in Irondequoit Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rochester Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Residences at Park Place Activity Fund, Attn: Jenna Menard, 115 Gillespie Rd., Seneca, SC 29678.
